How to play Karos: step by step
To play Karos you need an account and the game client. We are in closed beta right now: sign-ups are open and login unlocks at 13 November 2026 at 20:00 (UTC+3). This page walks through the order of events.
1. Fill in the application
The closed beta sign-up form asks for a username, an e-mail address and a password. Usernames are 4-16 characters, letters, digits and underscores only. Your password is never stored as plain text anywhere; it is kept in the game's own secure hashed format. When you submit the form you receive an application key — save it, because that key is how you check your application status. There is no login form on this site by design.
2. Confirm on Discord
After applying you can join our Discord server and send a short code to the bot (!dogrula CODE). The step is optional but worthwhile: confirmed applications get double weight in the draw and a surprise box at launch. One Discord account can confirm one application. You also get announcements first hand.
3. No wipe
Nothing you earn in the closed beta will be deleted. There is no wipe: your character, your levels, your gear and your guild all survive launch. So there is no reason to wait for a "real" start — playing from day one builds a permanent head start.
4. Download the client and log in
The download link is announced to applicants before launch. The client installs into a single folder and the launcher fetches updates itself. When login opens you enter the game directly with the username and password from your application; there is no separate activation step.
Approximate system requirements
- Windows 10 or 11 (older Windows versions usually work too)
- Roughly 4 GB of RAM
- A graphics card supporting DirectX 9 or newer
- A few GB of free disk space
- A stable internet connection
Karos is not a new game and runs smoothly on hardware from a decade ago. The figures above are approximate, not measured minimums.
Common mistakes
- Not saving the application key. It is the only way into the status page; we do not use your e-mail as a recovery channel.
- Trying a reserved username. Names such as "gm", "admin" or "support", and anything starting with them, are rejected.
- An over-long password. The client sends the first 128 characters, so the form rejects anything longer to stop your account locking itself out in game.
- Leaving Discord confirmation until launch day. The queue gets long; do it now.
